Kaley Cuoco announces she has adopted new rescue dog named Dahlia: “We hit the jackpot”

Few celebrities love animals as much as Kaley Cuoco. The Big Bang Theory star is an advocate for animals and has many pets of her own at home, including dogs and horses.

While Cuoco has had to say goodbye to some of her beloved pets recently, she always opens her heart to new rescues when they need homes.

This week, the actress announced that she had adopted a new rescue dog named Dolly, and says she “hit the jackpot.” ❤️

In a June 26 Instagram post, Cuoco announced that she had adopted a Cane Corso mix named Dahlia, or Dolly for short.

“Our newest pack member is here!!” Cuoco announced to her fans. “We all hit the jackpot.”

In a follow-up post, Cuoco explains how Dahlia came into her life. She says she saw a post about Dahlia from the non-profit rescue I Stand With My Pack. Cuoco “immediately got chills” and said, “That’s our dog.”

Cuoco says that Dahlia had a “rough start to life,” and thanked I Stand With My Pack and Dahlia’s foster for caring for her.

The Flight Attendant star says that Dahlia is settling in well to her new home, and gets along especially well with her 1-year-old daughter Matilda, who often calls out her name.

“Cane Corsos are very lazy dogs. She just loves to sleep, lay on the couch, lick Matilda’s face… she’s been such a delight to our lives.”

The sweet adoption comes months after Cuoco and her partner Tom Pelphrey said a heartbreaking goodbye to their longtime dog Blue. Cuoco says she has had to put down three dogs in the past year, including Blue and her Chihuahua Dump truck.

But Cuoco says that Dahlia carries on the spirit of her beloved late dogs. “She’s all the dogs we had rolled into one,” Cuoco says. “The heavens sent her down to us.”

A true lover of animals, Cuoco has always opened her home to many pets. “I’m not allowed to say how many I have, because I am afraid they will come knocking, saying that it’s an illegal amount,” she joked to Variety in 2021.

In addition, she has used her fame as an actress to advocate for animal rights speaking out against pet abandontment, Canadian seal hunting, and horse abuse. She is a member of the Humane Society of the United States and promoted the dog rescue Paw Works.
