Kelly Clarkson’s Heartfelt Performance of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” Earns a Standing Ovation and Becomes Our Favorite Holiday Anthem❤

Kelly Clarkson is now among the queens of Christmas.

Over the years, The Kelly Clarkson Show host has channeled the holiday spirit by releasing two Christmas albums — Wrapped in Red in 2013 and When Christmas Comes Around … in 2021. Recently, Kelly decided to dip into the Christmas music archive for her latest “Kellyoke” performance on December 9, where she found herself singing the iconic track “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” off her original holiday record during her talk show.

As she wore a floral dark green dress, Kelly stood alongside a piano with her music director Jason Lambert. As she proceeded to perform a soulful rendition of the holiday tune, originally made famous by Judy Garland in the musical Meet Me in St. Louis, audiences in the Rockefeller Center studio couldn’t look away. What’s more, as the American Idol winner finished singing, people were so moved that they stood up in their seats and gave her a rousing standing ovation.

Given how Kelly can pretty much sing any song, hearing her slow things down for a heartfelt moment during the holidays really had fans emotional.

“I have run out of words to describe how much joy her voice brings me. Thank you Kelly!!” one person wrote in the comments on YouTube. “Wow wow wow absolutely stunning with the voice of an angel Christmas with Kelly Clarkson wow,” another declared. “No words 😶 just feels 🥹🎄 and chills, Kelly Christmas 🌟✨,” a different follower added.

Well, Kelly certainly knocked it out of the park for this one! And let’s not forget — she’s actually been in the holiday spirit for quite some time already! In addition to hosting the Christmas in Rockefeller Center holiday special on December 4, Kelly surprised fans by releasing a new single called “You For Christmas” back in September. And if there wasn’t anything better, she also debuted a holiday duet with none other than Cher called “DJ Play a Christmas Song.”

We definitely know what we’ll be playing on repeat during the most wonderful time of the year!
