She’s arguably the biggest music star in the world right now, capable of drawing tens, if not hundreds of thousands of fans to any given venue city if she’s performing, and has seen her stock enjoy a meteoric rise not unlike that of Elvis and The Beatles.
But Taylor Swift is not invulnerable to the odd wardrobe malfunction, according to reports.
The 34-year-old singer was in Stockholm last weekend to perform three shows for three sell-out crowds. If estimates are to be believed, somewhere between 150,000 and 200,000 people descended on the Swedish capital, with some journeying from as far afield as the US.
As is the case with everything Swift does of late, her touch turned the trio of concert nights to gold, prompting rave reviews and only serving to further fuel the hype that her Eras Tour has introduced unto the world.
Yet there was one moment on her third night in Stockholm that at least alluded to the idea that Swift may, in fact, be mortal after all, when she suffered a slight wardrobe malfunction in full view of the packed out arena.
As per reports, the blue dress the megastar artist was wearing opened up just as she was about to sit herself down at the piano, revealing the gold bralette and sparkly black shorts combo she had on underneath.
Ever the consummate professional, Swift was quick to refasten the ensemble as she sat down to deliver a moving rendition of her never-before-played-live hit How Did It End?
That might have been that – let’s face it, other artists have suffered far worse mishaps on stage before – but the internet today is… well, the internet today.
In short order had the clip of Swift’s dress popping open found its way to TikTok, where certain individuals were ready and waiting to try and tear the Bad Blood singer down.
“Her shorts look like a diaper. So unflattering,” wrote on person on Facebook.
“Those look like granny panties…..look good on her 😂,” said another on Instagram.
A third speculated that the star might even be with child. “Hmm..🤔 looking kind of round on the lower abdomen. Is she trying to tell us something?” they wrote.
“It looks intentional,” a fourth said of the dress slip.
Somewhat harshly, a fifth wrote: “Well she is used to taking her clothes off soo.”
Inexplicably, meanwhile, a sixth added: “She’s a hot mess [and] has been!”
‘Has been’ is most definitely wide of the mark, as are virtually all the other above criticisms. Sadly, there’s not much to be done about the negative rumblings of detractors in such situations, and we’re sure Taylor is past the point of caring what they say.
