Keith Urban Mourns the Loss of His Beloved Father

Keith Urban, the acclaimed country star, is grieving the loss of his father, Robert Urban, who passed away on Saturday night after a courageous battle with cancer. The outpouring of love and support that Keith and his family have received during this difficult time has deeply touched their hearts.

“I have been deeply touched by the overwhelming love and support that Nic and I, along with our family, have received since my Dad’s passing,” Keith said in an emotional statement. His long and difficult battle with cancer is over, and he has finally found peace.

My father’s unwavering love for country music and his dedication to America paved the way for my own journey in life and shaped me into the person I am today. I want to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all who have kept us in their thoughts and prayers.”

Just recently, Keith Urban revealed that his father had entered hospice care. While unveiling his exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, the singer shared the ongoing battle his father was facing.

He candidly expressed to The Tennessean, “He only has a few weeks, if that. I’ve been dealing with this in the past couple of days. It’s a strange time because it’s typical of a career filled with extreme highs and lows, often happening simultaneously. So [the exhibit] is bittersweet because my dad is the reason behind all of this. My dad is the reason why I live in America.”

Keith Urban’s exhibit, So Far, showcases costumes that his father lovingly made for him to wear during his earlier performances. Reflecting on his father’s influence, he shared, “My dad always believed it was important for me to dress like a performer, so many of those outfits were actually made by him, with the assistance of my mom, but especially my dad. He believed I should dress well and look like a performer.”

Last year, Keith Urban’s wife, Nicole Kidman, experienced the loss of her father. In an interview, she expressed how Keith was her rock during that challenging time, saying that he “literally carried” her through it.

During this difficult period, our deepest condolences and thoughts go out to Keith Urban and his family. Let us remember the tremendous impact his father had on his life and celebrate the inspiring legacy he leaves behind.
