Jane Fonda Announces Cancer Diagnosis

Beloved actress, former model, and climate activist, Jane Fonda, recently shared some sad news with her fans. The 84-year-old Oscar winner took to Instagram to reveal that she has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and has been undergoing chemotherapy treatments for the past six months. However, Fonda remains positive and believes that her cancer is treatable.

In her Instagram post, Fonda expressed her gratitude for having access to the best doctors and treatments, acknowledging the privilege that comes with it. She recognized that not everyone has the same level of healthcare and emphasized the importance of ensuring everyone has quality healthcare. Fonda also shared her belief that cancer is a teacher, and she is paying close attention to the lessons it has to offer.

Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a type of cancer that affects the lymphatic system, which is responsible for fighting infections in our bodies. In this type of lymphoma, the white blood cells called lymphocytes grow abnormally and can form tumors throughout the body, as explained by the Mayo Clinic.

Fonda’s announcement sparked an outpouring of love and support from fellow celebrities and friends. Actress Debra Messing sent healing light and strength, while Alyssa Milano offered her love and assistance, stating she is always there for Fonda. Diane Keaton expressed her admiration for Fonda’s strength and called her a warrior.

This isn’t the first time Fonda has faced and overcome cancer. In 2010, she battled breast cancer, and in 2018, she had a growth removed from her lips. Despite the challenges, Fonda remains determined to beat cancer once again.
