In 1954, They Sang This Christmas Song for This Classic Movie. Can You Still Remember It Now?

White Christmas is a 1954 American musical/romantic film, and if you’re anything like me then you absolutely love the classics. The film stars Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney, and Vera-Ellen, and the plot is loosely based on the 1942 film, Holiday Inn. The classic Christmas movie features the songs of Irving Berlin, including a new version of the title song, “White Christmas,” introduced by Crosby.

Talk to moms about mom stuff. And make money doing it.

In the following clip, Bing Crosby’s character has invited veterans of the 151st Division to come to Vermont on Christmas Eve to surprise their former General. When the General enters the lodge, he is greeted by his former division, who sing a rousing chorus of “The Old Man.” Just as the following number ends, he learns that snow is finally falling. That’s when Bing Crosby breaks into song and performs a Christmas standard, “White Christmas,” and all is well with the world. The video’s YouTube description states, “This Christmas classic shows that no matter how important everybody thinks we are or were, we need a reminder that we REALLY made a difference.”
